Well now, if you’re here lookin’ to figure out them pesky Gauntlet Rats in BG3, let me tell ya, I’ve got some things to say ’bout that. Now, don’t get all confused by the fancy talk or them big words folks like to throw around. I’m gonna tell ya how to deal with them rats step by step, nice and simple. It ain’t too hard once ya know what to do, so grab a seat and listen close, alright?
First thing you gotta know, them rats ain’t just any old rats. They got a real sneaky trick up their little furry sleeves. The whole mess starts over at the Grand Mausoleum, or some folks call it the Thorm Mausoleum, where you gotta figure out a way into the Gauntlet of Shar. Now, to get to that Gauntlet, you’ll need to do a bit of poking around and dealing with these critters. But don’t go shootin’ your arrows and magic spells all willy-nilly like, that’s not gonna help you none.
When you first see them rats, they ain’t exactly ready to jump into a fight. No, they don’t want trouble right off the bat. But if you get close enough and talk to ’em, you’ll find an option to attack. Go ahead and hit that option, and wham, bam! You’ll send one of them rats down for the count. Now, don’t get too excited just yet, ‘cause the rest of the rats are gonna scatter and run off to some statue in the area. And trust me, you’re gonna want to follow ‘em right on over to that statue.
So, once you’ve killed one rat, you’ll notice them other rats making a beeline for that statue, like they got some kind of meeting to get to. You follow ‘em, and pretty soon, you’ll find yourself in a boss fight. That’s right, the rats lead you right to the big boss encounter! But hold up, don’t start swingin’ your sword around just yet. This here boss fight ain’t all that complicated if you know what to expect. See, the rats are part of a big ol’ puzzle, and if you kill enough of ‘em, the Justiciar will appear. It’s a bit tricky, but no need to panic—he ain’t invincible. You don’t even have to kill the Justiciar, but if you want to, well, that’s your call.
Now, if you just keep an eye on them rats and follow ‘em to the statue, you’ll start the boss fight, and things’ll get real interesting. The trick here is not to rush things. You ain’t got to kill every rat you see. Sometimes it’s better to let ’em scatter and just keep your distance, so you don’t wind up in a big ol’ mess. If you manage to handle the rats properly and keep ‘em under control, that boss fight ain’t gonna be too tough for ya.
But, if you’re the type that likes a real challenge, go ahead and clear out all the rats and see what happens. Just know that each move you make will affect how things play out. There’s no one right way to do it, but the key is to stay calm, follow them rats to that statue, and be ready for a little scrap with the Justiciar if you so choose.
That’s pretty much all there is to it, folks! Nothing too complicated, just gotta be smart and know when to fight and when to let ‘em scurry off. So now that you got the lowdown, go ahead and give it a try. You’ll be chasin’ them rats around like a pro in no time, and that Gauntlet of Shar won’t seem so daunting once you know the ropes. Good luck out there, and don’t let those rats get the best of ya!
