- Zone: The Dravanian Forelands
- Fishing Hole: Upper Thaliak River (approx. X:24.4, Y:24.0)
- Optimal Bait: Purse Web Spider (Lv. 51 bait)
- Alternative Method: Can be mooched from a Blueclaw Shrimp (which is caught using a Stonefly Nymph).
- Tug: Medium (!!)
- Conditions: No specific time of day or weather requirements.
Primary Uses:
- Levequests: Required for the Level 56 Fisher levequest "A Real Drag," available in The Pillars (Ishgard).
- Desynthesis (Culinarian): Can be desynthesized to yield items such as Fine Sand or Allagan Silver Pieces.
- Fishing Log: Necessary for the completion of The Dravanian Forelands section of the fishing log.
- Grand Company Missions: May occasionally be requested for Grand Company supply and provisioning missions.
- Vendor Sales: Can be sold to NPC vendors for a nominal amount of gil.
