If your Pal egg in the incubator is "Too Hot," it will incubate very slowly or not at all. You need to reduce its temperature for optimal hatching.
Methods to Cool Down Eggs
- Utilize a Cooler:
Craft and place a Cooler device near your Egg Incubator. This structure requires a Pal with the Cooling work suitability assigned to it to function. The Cooler will actively lower the surrounding temperature, impacting the egg in the incubator.
- Relocate to a Cold Environment:
Move your Egg Incubator to a naturally cold biome. Areas like snowy mountains or icy regions have a lower ambient temperature that can help cool down an overly hot egg. This is a good solution if a Cooler is not yet available or if additional cooling is needed.
- Night Time Incubation:
In some biomes, the ambient temperature drops significantly at night. If an egg is only slightly too hot, waiting for nightfall might be enough to bring it to a comfortable temperature, especially in temperate or desert areas.
Achieving Optimal Incubation Temperature
The ideal status for an egg in an incubator is "Seems very comfortable." This indicates the temperature is perfect, and the egg will hatch at the fastest possible rate. If it still says "It's a little hot" after implementing cooling measures, you might need a stronger cooling source (e.g., a Pal with a higher Cooling work suitability level on the Cooler, or an additional Cooler).
Conversely, if you overcool the egg and it becomes "Too Cold," you will need to apply a heat source like a Campfire or Heater.
