In the mobile game "Obey Me! One Master to Rule Them All!", a Surprise Guest is a character interaction feature that can occur after completing a battle in either the main story (Lessons) or in event stages. It presents an opportunity to increase your Intimacy level with one of the characters who participated in that battle.
Triggering a Surprise Guest
A Surprise Guest appearance is not guaranteed after every battle, but the chances are relatively high. The character who appears is randomly selected from the demon cards you used in the preceding battle. If you used guest characters (characters not from your own card collection), they can also appear as Surprise Guests.
Interaction Mechanics
Once a Surprise Guest appears, you will see the character on screen, and you have a limited time to interact with them. Interactions typically involve:
- Tapping/Touching: You can tap or rub specific areas on the character's Live2D model. Different characters have different preferred spots, and their reactions (indicated by hearts, sparkles, or negative effects) will guide you.
- Giving Gifts: You can offer the character one of their favorite items or food. Giving a preferred gift yields a significantly positive reaction and a larger Intimacy boost.
The goal is to achieve a "Big Faint" or "Great Success" reaction by performing three successful interactions within the time limit. The character's dialogue and on-screen effects will indicate the success of your interactions.
Benefits of Surprise Guests
Successfully interacting with a Surprise Guest provides several benefits:
- Increased Intimacy: This is the primary reward. Higher Intimacy levels unlock new dialogues, Devilgram stories, outfits, and phone calls with the character.
- Item Drops: Sometimes, after a successful interaction, the character may give you an item, such as Grimm, AP (Action Points), or items usable in battles or for character development.
- Character EXP: Less commonly, you might receive a small amount of EXP for the character card that triggered the Surprise Guest.
Maximizing Outcomes: Learning each character's preferred touch spots and favorite gifts is key to consistently achieving the best outcomes from Surprise Guest interactions. Observing their reactions and dialogue cues is crucial for this learning process. Some characters also have "secret" preferred interactions that yield even better results.
